1918 Rare U.S. Army “Daisy Mae” Fatigue Hat
1918 Rare U.S. Army “Daisy Mae” Fatigue Hat
An exceptionally early example of American military workwear, retaining its original gauze label dated 24 April 1918.
Produced under contract by Buchsbaum & Lewis, this brown denim fatigue hat represents the early development of U.S. Army workwear during the First World War. The surviving label preserves the original contractor, contract number and size — remarkable details for a garment approaching 110 years old.
A highly collectable piece of early military headwear, with a documented wartime contract date and an authentic utilitarian silhouette.
